In print since 1854. On the iPad since 2011.

The British Journal of Photography was first printed in 1854, and is the world’s oldest continually published photography magazine.

In 2011 it launched a new, quarterly edition exclusively on the iPad. In May 2013 it added an iPad edition of the monthly magazine, plus weekly iPhone issues, via the new BJP+ app.

The iPad Monthly

Launched in May 2013, the BJP+ App includes all the news, features, interviews, news and photography projects from our monthly print edition, presented as a bespoke iPad magazine with additional photos, video and more.

Each issue is available as an individual purchase, or subscriptions are offered at a substantial discount. All subscribers to the iPad edition can download our weekly iPhone issues at no extra cost, providing a convenient way to read the key articles from each issue while on the move.

BJP+ is available from the App Store, here.

The iPhone Weekly

In June 2012, we launched our first attempt at an iPhone edition of the British Journal of Photography. Rather than attempt to squash a print or iPad page onto the phone, we wanted to completely rethink how a magazine should look on the small screen.

In May 2013 we launched the new BJP+ app. As well as monthly issues for the iPad, this includes smaller, weekly issues designed for the iPhone 4, 4S or 5. Each weekly issue includes one or two key articles, presented to be experienced on the phone.

Each iPhone issue is available as a low-cost individual purchase, and low cost iPhone subscriptions are available in-app. All subscribers to the iPad edition can download the weekly iPhone updates at no extra cost.

BJP+ is available from the App Store, here.
